RE: Sears - air conditioning repair recharged freon - then freon leaked out again
TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:
I hope that I have found the correct place to air my concern. When our air conditioner was not working in August, we called Sears to come fix it. We told them that the unit was not putting out cold air. The
service man said that it must be empty of freon and then filled it.
When he gave me the bill for $172.00, I asked him why the unit would be empty of freon. He said that it must have leaked out. I asked him how it could leak out, and he told me that there must be a leak or that the valve was not tightened at the time of installation.
The next day we went on vacation and when we came back the air conditioner was not cold again. It was then that we realized that the Sears technician did not do the job right. He should have checked for a leak and then fix it before adding freon.
Our air conditioner still does not work and we have asked Sears to return our money. Not only did
the man do the job wrong, but he released dangerous chemicals into the ozone. Is there anything that I can do to get my money back?Thank you for your time.
Sincerely,
Robin Lee
