Complaint Repair received the following consumer message on May 29, 2002:

To Whom It May Concern:

This cell phone was originally purchased for my Grand daughter and I never signed for a pager to be added on this account. When I signed the contract the cell phone was not delivered that day, my Grand daughter picked up the cell phone at a later date and she more than likely had the pager added to the account.

To reiterate, I did not order a pager. I did not sign a contract including a pager. I certainly did not agree to a de-activation fee regarding a pager which I did not order or receive.

In reviewing the February bill, I noticed a pager attached. I requested to have the pager deactivated. The employee I talked with said the deactivation would take place in about 48 hours and that was the extent of
the conversation.

On the billing statement dated March 30, 2002, a charge of $150.00 was on the statement for the deactivation of the pager.

The $150.00 charge was not mentioned when the request for the deactivation was made.It would be most appreciated, it if this charged could be removed from this account, my Grand daughter has ran away and I am now stuck with paying a monthly bill on a cell phone I do not use and now a $150.00 pager deactivation bill for a pager I never signed for.
