From: Craig W. Aubrey [caubrey@jccomp.com]RE: Excel Telecommunications - trouble getting refund for $ 586.04 for overpayment mistake - poor service
My name is Craig Aubrey. I recently moved and canceled my EXCEL Telecommunications long distance telephone account.
Their e-mail address
is: webmaster@excel.com.
My final balance was $123.15. I accidentally wrote a check to Excel in the amount of $709.19 on December 28, 2001. Excel cashed the check on January 9, 2002. After they cashed the check, I had a positive balance of $586.04.
Excel has refused to repay me the $586.04. Their contract states that they will hold onto credits for 120 days. 120 days passed on May 9, 2002. It has now been 134 days since I first overpaid Excel. I have written and called Excel. I wrote them on January 21, and May 14, 2002.
I called them in early January 2002 and on May 23, 2002. When I called on May 23, 2002, I spoke with a supervisor named John Hock (spelling?). It was approximately 7:30 or 8:00 pst when I spoke with Mr. Hock.
He stated that for some reason, Excel is reviewing my refund and that it will be at least 30-60 more days before I receive my refund (if there are no problems). At that point, Excel would have retained my $586.04 for over 6 months. I want my money back as soon as possible!!! This is ridiculous.
