Complaint Repair received the following consumer message on February 9, 2003:
From: k v [kvkv5858@hotmail.com]RE: Frigidaire refrigerator - purchased in 1995 - has inner leak on sealed system
model # frt18rrcw2 was not keeping things very cold anymore. i had set the controls on maximum. it would run almost all the time but not be very cold. the (frost free) freezer was icing up.
i called the repair person and they said it had an inner leak (sealed system) and it would be cheaper to buy a new fridge. the compressor has a 10 year warranty but the sealed system only 5 years. 3 years out of warranty and dead!
i'm not happy with frigidaire. the fridge i purchased in 1995 is broken. the repair person said it has an inner leak. 8 years old!
