Re: Credit Protection Assoc. LP

I received a notice from Credit Protection Associates, LP, today, informing me that a past due amount of $37.58 was owed by me to Comcast Cablevision.

I contacted them through the phone number on the letter. There was no option to leave a message or talk to a real person. I then went to their website, where there was also no way to leave a message or send an email.

I proceeded to call Comcast and let them know about this letter and that my payment in this amount was sent to them on 9/1/06. Justin at Comcast looked up my account and informed me that this payment was cleared through their system on 9/12/06.

I then researched this CPA, LP, online and found that there have been MANY complaints from others regarding this same tactic with other businesses.

I'm writing to inform you of this in the hopes that you can bring this scam to the attention of those who can stop it. This is just causing unnecessary stress and potentially damaging credit to people who have paid their bills in a timely manner.

Thank you,
Linda Gaddy
