Cordia Communications
PO Box 1763
White Plains, NY 10602-1763

I am another victim of Cordia Communications. I switched over to Cordia Communications and that was the start of a seven month long headache.

For the first two months of service, I didn't have long distance ability on my phone, and 12 out of the 14 customer service representatives assured me that I did. the other two simply had no answers. It took them 8 days after the last call to actually get my long distance ability up and running.

The second problem arose when Cordia had an incorrect address for me, and I found my service disconnected due to lack of payment. No warning. I called them and was on hold for 48 minutes before a customer service representative told me that I had to pay the outstanding balance, and a reconnection fee. It didn't matter to them that my lack of payment was due to fact that they were sending my bills to an incorrect address. Even though the recording of the phone conversation from when I agreed to service was replayed by the customer service representative and in that recording, I very clearly stated my name and address and it was very clearly repeated back to me. I paid the money and was told to dispute the connection fee in writing.

I wrote. I still have yet to see a dime.

To add insult to injury, I was told that even though I did pay the back due amount, they couldn't reconnect my service for 48-72 hours. After further questioning, and getting more and more irate, I found that it was 48-72 hours before they had to actually call VERIZON who owned the physical telephone lines, and there would be an additional wait for an appointment time for when Verizon could physically come out and reconnect service. I was out of phone service for 11 days.

Two weeks later, I came home from work and found that I didn't have a dial tone, yet again. They had no explanation for this. It was another 9 days before they had it back on.

17 days later, same exact problem. It was yet another 5 days before they had my dial tone back.

After hours upon hours upon hours of being on hold, talking to inept customer service representatives who all seem to have clashing reasons ( the most creative reason was that they found a tree branch touching the line.) for why I didn't have service, I decided to switch phone companies.

Not only did I switch phone companies, but I changed my phone number. This is the 12th day since I disconnected my account with Cordia and my old number still rings and goes to voice mail. Cordia has informed me that as long as that number goes to voice mail, I am going to be billed for phone service. I have been on hold for 23 minutes without yet having spoken to a real person, and this is 8th time I've called to get them to turn off my old number and stop billing me.

This is the worst company I have ever come across as far as customer service, actual honest answers, anyone ever returning my calls, and satisfactory service. I would recommend two cans and a string before having to be one of their customers.
