2001 Chevy 2500HD - at 14,000 miles transmission slipping
I RECENTLY PURCHASED MY FIRST NEW VEHICLE , A 2001 CHEVY 2500HD.THE WARM FUZZY FEELING THAT YOU GET IN OWNING A NEW VEHICLE DID'NT LAST VERY LONG.AT 14000 MILES THE TRANSMISSION BEGAN SLIPPING AND WHINNING ,
SO I TOOK IT TO MY LOCAL CHEVY DEALER , THEY PROMPTLY TOOK MY TRUCK AND GOT ME INTO A RENTAL AND SENT ME ON MY WAY ,LATER THAT DAY THEY CALLED TO SAY MY TRUCK WAS READY,IT WAS AT THAT POINT THAT I NEW SOMETHING WAS WRONG, THERE WAS NO WAY THEY COULD HAVE REPAIRED THE TRANSMISSION IN THAT SHORT OF TIME.
WHEN I PICKED UP THE TRUCK THEY EXPLAINED TO ME THAT THE PUMP BOLTS IN THE TRANSMISSION WERE LOOSE AND THAT THEY HAD RETIGHTENED THEM...YEA RIGHT...
NOT MORE THAN TWO WEEKS LATER THE TRANSMISSION GRENADED.NOW I WAS NOT IN THE BEST OF MOODS WHEN I WALKED BACK INTO THAT SERVICE DEPT.WHEN I BEGAN TO EXPLAIN TO THE SERVICE MANAGER WHAT HAD HAPPENED HE TOLD ME THAT HE WOULD LIKE TO HELP ME BUT HE HAD TO GO TO LUNCH...
CAN YOU IMAGINE IF THE SALESMAN WHO SOLD ME THE TRUCK WERE TO SAY TO ME,GEE I'D LOVE TO SELL YOU THIS TRUCK BUT I HAVE TO GO TO LUNCH.THE NEXT FELLA I BEGAN TO COMPLAIN TO TOLD ME "HEY WE DIDNT BUILD THIS TRUCK" INCIDENTLY THE CHEV 2500HD WAS THE TRUCK OF THE YEAR FOR 2001....NOT IN MY BOOK..THANK YOU CHEVROLET YOU HAVE JUST LOST A CUSTOMER,NOT BECAUSE OF YOUR INFERIOR PRODUCT BUT YOUR POOR CUSTOMER RELATIONS.
